One of the sons of the late Chief Anthony Anenih, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ose Anenih has officially tendered his resignation as member of the party, citing personal reflection and a desire to step back from active politics.

In a letter dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of PDP in Arue Ward 3, Uromi, Edo State, Ose stated that his decision was deliberate and carefully considered.

According to him, “This decision was not made lightly,” he wrote. “From the very beginning, I have stood with the PDP through its triumphs and its trials, bound by a belief in the promise of Nigerian democracy and in the ideals that first drew me to the Umbrella.”

Anenih described his time in the party as marked by meaningful relationships and formative experiences but said he now intends to focus on family and other personal responsibilities.

“At this point in my life, I must step back from the arena of partisan politics. My duty now lies first with my family and with other responsibilities that demand my full attention,” he added.

Despite his resignation, Ose Anenih emphasized his continued commitment to Nigeria’s democratic development.

“My commitment to Nigeria’s progress remains unshaken. I will continue to contribute to intellectual and civic conversations that seek to improve governance and, above all, the lives of the governed,” he said.

The late Chief Anthony Anenih played a significant role in shaping the PDP’s early years and Nigeria’s political landscape.

Observers note that Ose Anenih’s resignation comes amid ongoing political shifts within the party at both state and national levels.

When The9JaTREND put up a telephone call to Mr. Tony Anenih Jnr, head of Chief Anthony Anenih’s Dynasty of Uromi Kingdom to get his reaction to Ose Anenih’s exit from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he said, “Ose’s decision to resign from the PDP have nothing to do with Anenih’s family of Arue Uromi, but a personal decision made by him alone.”
