Act Now For A Peaceful World: Partners For Peace Niger-Delta, EdoLeads 202 Int’l Peace Day Commemoration

As the world observes the 2025 International Day of Peace today being September 21, the call to “Act Now for a Peaceful World” resonates with greater urgency than ever. This year’s theme is a powerful reminder that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of justice, dialogue, and mutual respect.
The Partners for Peace (P4P) Niger-Delta, Edo State Chapter, joins millions across the globe to champion this cause. In collaboration with like-minded organizations and civic groups, P4P Edo State is organizing a series of activities — including media interventions and community engagements — to highlight the practical steps individuals and institutions can take to nurture lasting peace.
“Peace is everyone’s business,’ says the P4P State leadership. “From government officials to students, market women to faith leaders, each of us has a role to play in silencing violence, promoting dialogue, and protecting human nights””
The 2025 theme underscores several critical actions:
*Addressing root causes of conflict: confronting inequality, poverty, and injustice that fuel unrest.
- Silencing the guns: reducing armed violence through dialogue and conflict resolution.
*Amplifying diplomacy: strengthening negotiation and mediation efforts at all levels.
- Supporting peacebuilders: empowering individuals and grassroots groups already working to sustain harmony.
- Upholding human rights: ensuring fairness, dignity, and safety for every person.
The Edo State Chapters planned media outreach today will dissect these aspects, foster public understanding and spark conversations on how communities can translate ideals into action. Through radio discussions, press features, and social media campaigns, P4P Edo State aims to ins pire citizens to become peace champions in their daily lives.
As we mark International Peace Day, P4P Edo State calls on government agencies, community leaders, youth, and every resident to embrace this year’s rallying cry: Act now. Peace begins with small, deliberate choices listening mediating speaking out against injustice, and supporting non-violent solutions.
Let us raise the banner of peace and prove that Edo State and the Niger-Delta can be shining examples of unity, tolerance, and progress.
Happy International Peace Day.
Peace, Yes.
