Speaking to journalists in Benin, Edo State capital, Engr. Momodu began by acknowledging the significance of Independence Day as a moment to reflect on Nigeria’s resilience and growth. “Today, we celebrate not just a date on the calendar, but the spirit of a nation that has overcome challenges and continues to rise. Nigeria at 65 is a testament to the strength, diversity, and determination of its people,” he said.

Engr. Momodu took a moment to express his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he credited as a driving force behind Nigeria’s recent progress. “Under President Tinubu’s leadership, we have seen remarkable strides in stabilizing the economy, dismantling harmful systems like subsidy rackets, and empowering states to stand independently. The Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a policy—it’s a lifeline for transformation. Nigeria is doing great, and the President deserves commendation for his bold decisions,” Momodu stated with conviction.

Turning to Edo State, Momodu saluted Governor Monday Okpebholo for his revolutionary Independence Day speech, which he described as a blueprint for grassroots development and practical governance. “Governor Okpebholo’s message was inspiring and deeply rooted in service. His vision of ‘A New Edo Has Risen’ is not just a slogan – it’s a reality we are witnessing. From rebuilding roads and upgrading schools to creating opportunities for youths, the Governor has shown that leadership is about empowering the people,” he remarked.

Engr. Momodu also addressed the importance of investing in the younger generation, echoing Governor Okpebholo’s appeal to the youth as the heartbeat of the state. “Our children and youths are the future of this nation, and it is our responsibility to equip them with the tools to succeed. Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to youth development is a shining example of how to build a legacy that lasts. Investing in people is how we secure the future,” he said passionately.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s journey, Engr. Momodu emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving greatness. “Independence is about more than freedom from colonial rule. It’s about working together to maximize the opportunities that come with freedom. As Nigerians, we must continue to support visionary leaders like President Tinubu and Governor Okpebholo, who are driving us toward a brighter future,” he said.
