The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed a vote of implicit confidence on the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the State Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, and the State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah, in recognition of their steadfast leadership, dedication, and contributions to the unity and progress of the party in the state.
The resolution was part of key decisions reached at the State Working Committee (SWC) meeting held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, where members deliberated extensively on issues affecting the smooth running and cohesion of the party.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary (SPS), Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, the committee announced the immediate lifting of the suspension placed on its Ex-Edo South Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Valentine Asue and Woman Leader of Oredo Ward 12, Mrs. Stella Ogbetta.
The SWC urged them to resume active participation in party affairs and continue contributing positively to the growth and unity of the APC in the state.

The committee also addressed the suspension of Alhaji Abubakar Akokhia, former Party Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area. It directed the current Etsako West LGA Chairman to submit a comprehensive report on Akokhia’s relationship with the party to guide the committee in deciding whether to lift or sustain his suspension.
However, the SWC resolved that the suspension of Mallam Adamu Ototobor, Ward 9 Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Area, remains in force until further notice.
Members were advised to remain law-abiding and committed to party discipline pending additional directives.
Reaffirming its commitment to fairness, internal democracy, and unity within the APC in Edo, the SWC called on all members to continue working together to strengthen the party and uphold its values across all levels in the state.
