….Denies allegations of land grabbing, others

The people of Uhoro 3 Community in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State has passionately appealed to Edo State governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo to come to their rescue over the deplorable condition of the access road leading to the community.
Pa Vincent Osakue, Odionwere of the community and Amb Osagie Omoregie, his Okaighele (Youth Head) made the appeal while speaking to journalists on the state of the access road to the community.
Pa Osakue, while lamenting the suffering being faced by the people as a result of the state of the road said they decided to make the appeal for the governor to be aware of their plight adding that the road serves no less than six communities in the locality and also serve as a link road from the by-pass Sapele road on the right and Sakponba road on the left hand side of Benin City.
He noted that the rehabilitation work on the road is usually carried out through self-help efforts every year by the people of the community, but for the rains this year the road is no go area for them hence the appeal because it has gone beyond the efforts of the community.
On his part, the Okaighele of the community, Amb Osagie Omoregie lamenting the situation he termed unfortunate and a nightmare to the people of Uhoro 3 Community in modern day Edo State. He appealed to the governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo to come to their rescue in the construction of the road so as to alleviate the suffering been faced by the people in their daily activities.
He further added that apart from the deplorable condition of the access road into the community, there is no functional health centre for the people as they have to travel all the way to Stella Obasanjo Hospital or Central Hospital to assess healthcare facilities pointing out that the elders and people have earmarked part of their land for Health Care centre and school to reduce the suffering of the people of the community who do travel long distance.

On the allegations of land grabbing and other related vices in the community, the Okaighele denied the allegations outright that there is nothing like that happening in Uhoro 3 Community.
“We cannot do anything contrary to what our great reverend monarch, Omo N’Ob N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II CFR has instructed. It is against the tradition of the people, we follow the laid down laws and regulations as directed by the Palace through the Odionwere and elders of the community,” he added.
Going further, Amb Omoregie said it is only the Odionwere and elders that directs any authorization concerning land in the community and urged members of the public to disregard the allegations and feel free to come over to the community to do business and contribute to the growth and development of Uhoro 3 Community.
The Okaighele also used the occasion to appeal to Uhoro 3 Community indigenes in the diaspora to help in the development of the community for the benefits of all.
