Speaking on behalf of the family, Dr. Osahon Ukponmwan said a thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday, 21 December 2025, at 9:00am at the United Baptist Church, Mission Road, Benin City.

According to him, the service is meant to thank God for Mama Selia’s life and the values she upheld throughout her lifetime.

Dr. Ukponmwan disclosed that the church service will be followed by a reception at the Rose Garden. He stressed, however, that the reception will be strictly private and by invitation only.

He explained that invited guests will be issued access cards, which will serve as a condition for entry into the reception venue. This, he said, is to ensure a controlled, orderly and dignified gathering.

“Mama Selia stood for simplicity, dignity and order. Our arrangements reflect those values,” Dr. Ukponmwan said.

The family representative also expressed appreciation to friends, church members and well-wishers for their continued prayers and support over the years.

He concluded by noting that the 15th anniversary is not just a remembrance but a celebration of a life well lived and a legacy that continues to inspire faith, unity and service.
