The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu has stated that the hospital has been repositioned to deliver quality, world-class healthcare through upgraded facilities and improved services.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu made this known during a courtesy visit to the management of Yongxing Steel Company in Benin City, noting that UBTH is now strategically positioned to achieve better patient care and treatment outcomes.
She emphasized the importance of partnerships with corporate organizations to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Nigeria and called on Yongxing Steel Company to collaborate with UBTH in a mutually beneficial and sustainable manner.
The CMD highlighted significant improvements in corporate services and healthcare delivery at the hospital, attributing these advancements to the acquisition of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, which reinforce UBTH’s commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.
Responding, the Managing Director of Yongxing Steel Company, Mr. Zhang Xianghai described the visit as historic and expressed appreciation to the UBTH CMD and her management team. He acknowledged the hospital’s contributions to quality healthcare delivery in Edo State and across the South-South region.
“This visit opens a new chapter for us in 2026,” Mr. Xianghai said.
