The Odionwere, elders and people of Evbosawe Community in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State have reiterated that the community is autonomous and not Ago (camp) as being claimed by their neighboring community.
Speaking on the alleged Ago (camp) status, the Odionwere, Pa Dallas Osarenkhoe Osawe urged the members of the public to disregard the statement by the people of Ugomoson that Evbosawe is an Ago (camp) under them.
He said, from time immemorial the two communities have lived peacefully with one another without rancour and bitterness but was surprised that they are now coming out to say Evbosawe is a camp under them.
Pa Osawe noted that a community they are alleging is a camp is bigger and more developed than their own community and have once produced a local government under the administration of Chief Lucky Igbinedion in the person of late Henry Osawe who was Uhunmwonde Local Government Council Chairman and was the one that built the Primary Heartcare Centre for the benefits of both communities.
While pledging unalloyed loyalty to the the great Oba of Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II who he described as a father to all and a unifying force of all Bini people, Pa Osawe urged the public to disregard the statement, nothing that the people of Evbosawe are peace loving people and would not want any problem that will distract them from the continuous progress and development of Evbosawe, and also used the occasion to urged prospective developers to come and joined in the development of the community.
Also speaking, the Ozukpogieva, (Second in Command) of thr community, Pa Sunday Ogbomwenrhie and the Okaighele (youth head) Amb. Osarobo Ogbomwenrhie collaborated what the Odionwere said adding that the history of the communities in that axis are there for everyone yo verify and that the community has been in existence from the time of Oba Ewuare I expedition.
They pointed out that Evbosawe community from time immemorial has had several Odionwere, that the present Odionwere Pa Dallas Osarenkhoe Osawe has been as the head of the community there for 13 years now peacefully without problem.
They added that for the people of Ugomoson alleging that Evbosawe is an Ago (camp) is laughable and should be disregarded by members of the public adding that the Evbosawe they called Ago, they both carried out boundary demarcation last year around July in the presence Ugomoson Community Elders and Evbosawe Community elders, they are surprised were the Ago issue is coming from.
Going further they added that the boundary demarcation between the two communities was carried out peacefully with both sides embracing each other, dining and wining together that very day, and there is photo and video evidence to that effect.
They also used the opportunity to inform the general public that the community will embark on land demarcation layout for further development and appealed for government presence in the area of provision of social amenities like good roads, school and health care facilities for the benefits of the people.
