The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) community on Friday gathered to honour the life and legacy of the late Mr. Franklin Abhuluimen Ehiremen Omenai, former Director of Finance and Accounts.
Led by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, staff, family, friends, and associates paid glowing tribute to a man remembered for his dedication, financial acumen, and unwavering commitment to the hospital.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu, in her eulogy, described Mr. Omenai as an astute manager and financial guru who served UBTH with distinction from September 9, 1997, until his passing on January 6, 2026.
Speaking at the commendation service, she emphasized his unwavering commitment and the significant role he played within the finance and accounts department, where he was a beacon of diligence and professionalism.
Mr. Omenai’s contributions to UBTH were clearly profound and far-reaching. His colleagues remember him not only as a skilled financial professional but also as a dedicated and committed individual. His legacy of service and commitment will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
