…Says work to deliver 2.5m votes for Tinubu has begun

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State Chapter on Thursday, 5th March, 2026 inaugurated its State Executive Council, for a renewed four years term; also the executive members at the local Government Council level.
The entire State executive members were on Tuesday, 3 March, 2026 unanimously via a consensus and affirmation returned to office in the APC State Congress in Benin City, the State Capital.
Speaking at the inauguration held at the Party’s secretariat in Benin City, the State Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe said the unanimous affirmation of the entire executive for another four years in office by the APC State Congress, was in line with the democratic ideals entrenched in the constitution and tradition of the Party.
Adding; that the newly installed executive would serve as the Party’s driving force in the next four years.
As he charged members; to strengthen the Party’s structures and sustain electoral victories ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Continuing, the APC Chairman described members of the executive council as individuals of proven integrity who had distinguished themselves in various capacities in the service and development of the party.
Hence he was confident that they would help strengthen the Party and advance the cause of progressive governance in Edo State.
Tenebe reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to unity, inclusivity and internal democracy, noting that recent defections into the party signaled its growing dominance in Edo State.
“Over time, we have collectively nurtured a vibrant and dynamic political atmosphere in Edo State, one that has increasingly become the envy of other States across the federation.
“The SHINE Agenda of our distinguished Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, remains the cornerstone of our ideological pursuit and governance philosophy.”
Describing the recent defection of opposition members into the State APC as a ‘tsunami’ Tenebe asserts the Party was firmly positioned for victory at the 2027 general election.
Speaking further, the brand new APC State Chairman pledged alignment between the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the SHINE Agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Acknowledging there was more work to be done ahead of the 2027 general elections, he however assured that the Party would continue to closely work with the grassroots, particularly the youths and women.
Tenebe further thanked members of the media for their support, describing the press as a vital partner in promoting democratic values, and informing the public about the activities of the Party.
This is as he urged the newly inaugurated executives to remain committed to the people and justify the confidence reposed in them.
