…Says Ogbeson is a quarter under Iguoshodin N’budin Community

The elders, youths of Iguoshodin N’budin in Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State have come out to clarify the allegations made by the people of Ogbeson quarters in the community that they were responsible for the alleged shooting led vigilante on them recently.
Speaking on the allegations to journalists in Benin, the state capital, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the community Mr. Bright Ehimanmiegho said the clarification became necessary for the whole world to know what has been happening and that it was not the youths of Iguoshodin N’budin that attacked Ogbeson has been alleged by the people.
He pointed out that for clarity, Iguoshodin N’budin community is made up of four quarters namely; Ogbeson, Agobahenhen, Igueidu and Iduhunadagba, for four to five years now one Ikponwonsa Upkosisi who is a bonafide member of the community all of a sudden started creating problem by creating a community inside an existing community which was never heard of in Benin kingdom. “It is only the Oba of Benin that has the right to give any community autonomous.
“The elders and leadership of the Iguoshodin N’budin confronted him of the consequences of his action but he refused to heed the advice of the people and being a law abiding community and they do not want to take the laws into their hands, we wrote to the government agencies to come restore peace as a result of the activities of the said Ikponwonsa Upkosisi”.
Continuing he said the people of Iguoshodin N’budin wrote to the Oba Palace, the Ovia North-East local government Chairman to confirmed if actually the said Ogbeson was captured in the map of Ovia North-East. The council replied that there was nothing like Ogbeson community in that axis and also the Palace reaffirmed that Ogbeson was a quarter in Iguoshodin N’budin and that the Odionwere oversees all the quarters in the community.
Going further, Mr. Bright Ehimanmiegho added that when the people of Iguoshodin N’budin noticed that the people of Ogbeson quarters were poised for conflict, promoting communal war, they wrote a petition which the Police of the Oba of Benin was working on the investigation and the people of Ogbeson seeing the Police allegedly opened fire on them led by the said Ikponwonsa Ukposisi, injuring some of the police officers who are currently receiving treatment in a hospital within Benin City.
He used the occasion to call on Edo State Governor and other relevant security agencies to come to their aid as they do not want to take the laws into their hands adding that the people of Iguoshodin N’budin did not attack Ogbeson quarters in the community as being alleged by them.
Mr. Ehimanmiegho also urged the members of the public to also note that Ogbeson is one of four quarters under Iguoshodin N’budin from time immemorial as confirmed by the Palace of the Oba of Benin kingdom.
