…An appeal to Uromi/Uzea people in Constituency II
Let’s continue the relay we have started together by supporting the re-election of Rt. Hon. Marie Omozele Oligbi- Edeko, Member representing Esan North-East Constituency II at the Edo State House of Assembly.
Rt. Hon. Oligbi- Edeko has in less than three years of his first legislative term been in office, demonstrated effective representation is rooted in purposeful action and measurable impact.
In Esan North-East Constituency II, his interventions Security, healthcare, infrastructure, empowerment and education have improved livelihoods and strengthened community development.
Oligbi-Edeko has been quite active in her constituency, Esan North East II, has executed several projects in her constituency, Esan North East II, including:
Security Initiatives*:
She built and equipped a police station at the Federal Science and Technical College, Uromi, and fenced the Amedokhian Divisional Police Headquarters. She also donated power bikes to members of the Edo State Security Network.
Oligbi- Edeko fenced the Olinlin Police Station at Uzea.
Gave the Uzea Security Network Power Bikes to enable their movements.
Education*:
Marie Omozele Oligbi-Edeko has undertaken several projects at Our Lady of Lourdes Grammar School, Uromi. Some of her notable projects include constructing a perimeter fence and entrance to enhance safety and security, as well as renovating blocks of classrooms. These efforts aim to improve the school’s infrastructure and provide a better learning environment for students.
Constructed a perimeter fence at Olinlin Primary School, Uzea. She also got approval to construct perimeter fences in Ebho-Iyi Demonstration Primary & Idumu-Egelean Primary Schools.
Healthcare:
She is building an ultra-modern healthcare center at Ebhoijie, Ebhoiy, Uromi, and collaborated with the World Bank to construct a cottage clinic in Uzea
Honourable Marie Omozele Oligbi-Edeko has been quite active in her constituency.
One of her notable projects is paying health insurance premiums for the elderly, widows, and other vulnerable individuals in Uromi/Uzea community, ensuring they have access to free healthcare services for a year. This initiative is part of the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme, aiming to provide quality healthcare to those who need it most.
She had also raised lots of motions on Security in Uromi/Uzea and the entire State. Furthermore, she built a police station at the National Institute of Construction Technology and Management Amedokhian, Uromi and reconstructed the abandoned police post at Amedokhian and it was upgraded to Amedokhian Divisional Police Headquarters. As a champion of people-centric governance, Oligbi-Edeko believes governance should prioritize basic needs like healthcare, education, and social welfare.
Infrastructure*:
Oligbi-Edeko commissioned a 500 KVA transformer in Efandion Community, improving electricity supply and boosting economic activity.
As a lawmaker, she has also contributed to various legislative initiatives, such as:
– Advocacy for CONLESS salary review
– Drafting of the Financial Autonomy Bill
– Oversight of the first independently prepared Assembly budget
– Promotion of staff training and institutional capacity building
