Ikhine Disassociates Self From Edo Central Senatorial By-Election

A former Edo State 2024 governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Gideon Ikhine has disassociated self from several adverts and publications pushing him for the Edo Central Senatorial District race.

In a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Benin, Engr. Ikhine stated that he never authorized anybody for the trending adverts and publications stating that they were done without his knowledge or permission.

Engr. Ikhine who stated that the senatorial seat is not vacant pointing out that when it is finally vacant, the holder His Excellency, the Edo State governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo in his wisdom and consultation with APC party leadership will decide on the way forward.

“As a party man and a committed member of the APC, I will key into the decision of the party at all times,” he added.

Engr. Ikhine therefore advised all campaign materials projecting him for the senatorial by-election be put to rest; and trust his request in this regard be respected by all.

The statement reads:

EDO CENTRAL SENATORIAL BYE-ELECTION PUBLICATION

My attention has been drawn to several advert & publications pushing Engr Gideon Ikhine for the Senatorial race; I want to state firmly, that all these have been done without my knowledge or permission.

1. The Senatorial seat is not vacant.

2. ⁠When it is finally vacant, the holder His Excellency, our Governor-Elect in his wisdom and consultation with Party Leadership will decide on the way forward.

3. ⁠As a party man and a committed member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), I will key into the decision of the party at all times.

Finally, I wish to advise all campaign materials projecting me for the Senatorial Bye-Election be put to rest; I trust my request in this regard be respected by all.
