Excitement As Okoukoni Care Foundation Enrolls Indigent Students With Free WAEC/NECO Fees

It was a jubilation at Uromi, headquarters of Esan North-East local government area of Edo State as Okoukoni Care Foundation gave out cash to indigent students of the state who are eligible for West African Examinations Council/National Examinations Council (WAEC/NECO) examinations to enable to them enroll for 2024/2025 examination exercise.
About 50 students across the State benefitted from this year WAEC/NECO) free enrolment examinations fees.
In its usual magnanimity, the Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to educational empowerment by sponsoring the WAEC/NECO fees of less privileged students in the State.
This philanthropist initiative by the founder of the Foundation, Mr. Martins Azekhumhen Okoukoni, has been running for over eight years, and continues to ensure that financially disadvantaged students can pursue their academic aspirations without the burden of examination fees.
Speaking at the ceremony, the founder of the Foundation, Mr. Martins Okoukoni who said that the support was to give back to the society and the needy, highlighted the importance of education as the bedrock of societal development. He emphasized that the foundation is dedicated to bridging the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged by removing barriers that hinder access to quality education.
According to him, “The initiative has brought hope to numerous families, especially those unable to afford the costs of final secondary school examinations. Beneficiaries are selected through a transparent process, and students are encouraged to apply through the foundation’s official website to access this support.
“This initiative also exemplifies the transformative power of philanthropy in creating a more equitable society, where education becomes a right rather than a privilege.”
Going further, Mr. Okoukoni disclosed that the Okoukoni Care Foundation’s impact extends beyond education, as it also supports healthcare and other social welfare programs aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged.
He added that with its unwavering commitment, the foundation continues to be a beacon of hope for many young Nigerians, ensuring no child is left behind in the quest for academic success.
Highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries towards their WAEC/NECO enrolment.
Speaking to newsmen at the ceremony, some community leaders, parents as well as some of these beneficiaries applauded the laudable assistance of Mr. Okoukoni for his consistent efforts in fostering equal opportunities and contributing to the development of human capital in the state describing it as a life-changing opportunity.
