Odionwere Commends Benin Monarch For Restoring Lost Glory

Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II has been commended for the rejuvenation of the lost glory of the Binis, preservation, promotion of the rich cultural heritage and the general sanitization of the kingdom.
The Odionwere of Azagba village in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, Pa Osayande Evbuomwan made the commendation while speaking on the just concluded Ugie festival by the great Oba of Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II.
He said since the Oba of Benin Kingdom ascended the throne of his forebears, the kingdom has once again retained her lost glory culturally, traditionally and there have been absolute peace as a result of the continuous sanitization of the Kingdom by the Oba.
Pa Osayande Evbuomwan noted that the people of the Benin kingdom and the state in general have never had it so good, especially the peace and development being experience all over goes to show the Oba’s efforts in that direction.
While congratulating the Oba on the just concluded 2021 Annual Ugie Festival, the Odionwere called on all Binis both home and the Diaspora to always ensure they participate in the annual festival and join the Oba in the preservation and promotion of the festival as this will also serve as tourist attraction for the people to always look up to annually.
The odionwere subsequently urged all to take it off their mind that the festival is fetish but rather the Oba uses the occasion to offer prayers to God and ancestors for the protection, good health of the people, against all evil intentions away from the kingdom as well as for the continuous peace ,growth and development not only in Edo but the nation as a whole.
He posited that not matter the exposure, education and reach, the culture and tradition of the people should come first in all things, adding that the western world the new generations are trying to emulate have their own culture and tradition which they protect jealously. “Why not protect our own culture and tradition’, he stressed.
While pledging continuous loyalty to the Oba, the Odionwere used the occasion to congratulate the Royal father on the recent traditional royal naming ceremony of the quadruplet, adding that it will go down in the history of the great Benin Kingdom, he prayed God and ancestors to continue to guide and bestow him with the continous wisdom to pilot the affairs of the great kingdom to greater height.
He the use the occasion to call on those interested in acquiring properties for development to come to Azagba village, as the village is very peaceful and just about ten minutes drive from the city center.
