Ugoniyekeikpoba Expresses Gratitude to Oba Ewuare II for Restoring Peace in Village

The elders, people of Ugoniyekeikpoba village in Uhunwonde local government areas of Edo State have expressed thanks and appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II CFR for restoring peace in the village through the suspension of the self aclaimed Enogie who they alleged have been giving them problems.
The people made the appreciation in an enlarged meeting of the six villages that made up Ugoniyekeikpoba at Ugonoba village.
Speaking on behalf of the people, the Ohen of Ugonoba, Ohen Otabor Airhiavbere thanked the Oba for his wisdom at restoring peace in Ugoniyekeikpoba village and also to appeal to the Beni. monarch to invite them to the Palace to give details of who is supposed to be the real Enogie of Ugoniyekeikpoba village.
He said the self aclaimed Enogie who now is an enemy to the people still went about after his suspension by the Oba to perform Edion ceremony in the Oguedion which has never been heard of in Benin kingdom, thereby disobeying what the Oba has said and without showing remorse to his suspension.
Corroborating Pa Aghatise Aibangbe the most elderly person in Ugoneki while appreciating and thanking the Oba for ensuring peace in the area appealed to the Oba to invite them to the Palace to get the correct information on both the Enogie and Odionwere position, adding that the person he (Ebizugbe) a we q1allegedly singlehandedly installed one Mr. Asonwonriri Ebizugbe as the Odionwere is forth in command in Ugoneki which has never been heard of as the Oba has the power to direct who to be installed as Odionwere in any village.
Pa. Aghatise Aibangbe further said that for challenging him to do the right thing Ebizugbe has continually been harassing them with security agent and has sold and still selling the village land without due process. He added that they do not have land to farm again hence the appeal for the Oba who is their father to invite both parties to the palace to know the true position of things in Ugoniyekeikpoba village.
Also speaking Mr. Igbinosun Wilson who said he is from the Oguigo family thanked and appreciated Oba Ewuare II and also posited that the suspended Enogie is not supposed to be addressed as the Enogie of Ugoniyekeikpoba village as he is not supposed to be the rightful Enogie adding that the issue of supreme court judgement should not come in.
“The Oba has the sole power to install an Enogie and also suspend when such Enogie is found wanting and not the court as he claimed,” he added.
He subsequently appealed to the great Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II CFR to call the people of Ugoniyekeikpoba villag to ascertain the real position of things in the area that it is not heard of that Enogie is installed in Urhomehe, it is the palace that gives directive to that effect and the Oliha that carry that duty from time immemorial in Ugoniyekeikpoba village.
However all attempts made to get Pa Asonwonriri Ebizugbe reaction on the allegations of his installation as the Odionwere by the suspended Enogie was not successful as at the time of filing in this report.
