The Commissioner in a statement in Benin City, said the PDP should desist from heating the polity with inciting statements against the Governor Monday Okpebholo led administration.

“It is now time to reflect deeply and pray for divine intervention. It is time to stop pretending and deceiving ourselves and know that we must reflect on the issues confronting our nation, Nigeria. It is time that we, the political leaders of the country understand that there is a need to do so promptly with some sense of responsibility.

“In Edo State, the PDP should be gracious in defeat and stop heating up the polity with inciting comments and fabrication of stories against the Governor Okpebholo led administration because the people have fully embraced the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC,” the statement added.

According to Ohonbamu who is a former Minority Leader and Deputy Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, “Edo people are convinced that the APC is the only viable platform through which the state can achieve its dreams and no matter the campaign of calumny of the PDP and its custodians that can change the turning point of the state’s realignment with the APC.

“As we remember the death and resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ, we must ensure that we are sensitive to what is going on in the country and to note that the most important assignment for us, especially, politicians, is to provide good leadership to the people, which Senator Monday Okpebholo is poised to give.

“The APC is a party for all and with the birth of a new political direction in Edo State under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo, many politicians who are dissatisfied with the leadership style of the PDP are coming to the APC citing lack of internal democracy and poor governance as core reasons for leaving their party in droves.”
