NSCDC Officials Arrest Unknown Man With Gun During Church Service In Plateau

A young man has been arrested by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for possessing firearms in a church in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, has learnt.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst said the yet-to-be-identified man was arrested at about 8.30am on Sunday, April 20.
According to Makama, operatives of the NSCDC acted on intelligence and arrested the young man during its routine patrol within the church’s environs.
Makama wrote on X with photos, “The suspect was found in possession of a gun and could not provide any satisfactory explanation or legal documentation for it. The swift action of our operatives helped prevent what could have escalated into a serious security breach.”
Recall that there have been a series of killings in different communities in Bassa and Bokkos LGAs of Plateau State.
Residents of the affected communities resorted to burying their loved ones in a mass grave while efforts are being made by security agencies to find some missing persons and also apprehend the perpetrators of the attacks.
