Defection of Gov. Oborevwori to APC, the Best thing that has happened to Delta State – Akpeki

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Delta Central, Chief Paulinus Akpeki has described the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other prominent politicians and top government officials in the state from the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to the APC as the best thing that has happened to the state in terms of the benefits that the state will get from the Federal Government.
The chairman in a statement issued in Asaba disclosed that the APC has become the only viable platform through which the state can witness tremendous development and transformation in this dispensation
Chief Akpeki, a former Member of the House of Representative said Deltans should understand that with the Governor in the mainstream political party, the state will witness overwhelming transformation.
According to him, “The APC has been receiving prominent members of the PDP and other political parties across the country in appreciation of the President Bola Tinubu led administration transformation policies. But Nigerians need to be patient with the government that is putting sustainable structures in place for the political, socio-economic development of the country.”
The Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and the entire leadership of the PDP in the State officially defected to APC after a closed door meeting held at the Government House in Asaba. The governor is expected to officially make a statement on Monday, April 28, 2025.
