The Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Council, Hon. Cephas Yakubu has visited the residents of Odameh Community in Ekperi in a solidarity as a result of the attacked by the Fulani herdsmen.

Hon. Yakubu who was accompanied by a heavy security operatives, assured the residents that the security in the area would not be compromised and promised Government’s intervention to cushion the threat in Odameh Axis.

He also highlighted the critical need for community vigilance security is everyone business.

The chairman stated further that there are Fulanis among us but these are not the activities of Fulanis alone saying our people are among them giving out information about us, but we will not relent.

He reassured the public that the local government would continue to monitor the situation and take necessary action to prevent any further incidents.

Hon. Yakubu further commended the State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo for taking proactive measures to tackle the issues of insecurity in the state.

He encouraged the community to remain resilient and not to lose hope in the face of repeated adversities as he charged the community to stay alert to the dangers around them.

According to him, “They are enemies of peace, but we will not allow fear to define us, My administration will explore every lawful means to protect the lives and properties of our citizens.”

Responding on behalf of the community, Hon. Dr. Buddy Mostapha commended the council boss for his timely effort to visit the community.

He however appeal to the chairman to extend security operations to the Odameh Community as the people will be more alert watch out for any unsuspecting movement of strangers within their environment.
