There is no doubt that in the last six months, the leadership style of Edo State Executive Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has continued to excite everyone.

Interestingly, the political and economic turnaround in so short a time from hopelessness to rising hope of a better future for the state has placed the Governor on an unimagined pedestal.

The story is everywhere, across the three senatorial districts of Edo South, North and Central that there is indeed a new sheriff in town who has come prepared to write his name on the sands of time.

Prior to being a Senator, representing Edo Central, Governor Monday Okpebholo, popularly known as ‘Akpakomiza’ was very concerned about the plight of his people, whom he gladly reached out to with provision of basic necessities of living, such as water, electricity, educational scholarships for indegent children and lots more as community service.

It was apparently that humanitarian spirit that prompted him to venture into politics, on which platform, he would be able reach out to more people.

From his utterances and actions during and after the political campaigns it was very clear that ‘Akpakomiza’ is a people oriented die hard who will go any length to ensure a good life for his people.

Though critics, especially from the opposition could not see the hidden strength of Okpebholo, but his gingerly steps in governance so far has proved a lot of persons wrong as he tenaciously keeps faith with his pledge to the people.

Now, Governor Okpebholo has often reiterated that he has not come to government house to talk too much but to work for the people who elected him and in keeping to his words, his critics are disappointed to see that the Governor is quite in a hurry to make Edo State rise from the shadows of obscurity and mediocrity.
