Suspected Cultists Kill Middle-Aged Man At Oliha Market In Edo

Tension engrossed residents around Akugbe Street by Oliha Market in Benin City, the Edo State capital following the killing of a young man identified as Emma, suspected to be a victim of cult-related violence.
Eyewitnesses said the assailants chased the victim in two vehicles before opening fire, leaving him with multiple gunshot wounds.
The incident, which occurred on Friday at the popular Oliha Market, left motorists, traders, and passers-by scampering for safety.
The victim was reportedly a revenue collector for drivers on the wheel in the state until he met his death.
It was gathered that the remains of the victim was conveyed in a commercial vehicle to an undisclosed morgue by residence in the area.
Operatives of the Textile Mill Police Division stormed the scene to maintain law and order immediately after the killing.
When contacted, the Edo Police Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Yamu, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
