Recall Obi during his visit to the health institution, last year, donated the sum of N10 million to the same institution.

Speaking at the event, the former Anambra State governor said health, education and human capital development remain his three major areas of concentrations.

He said the issue of health cannot be taken for granted but must be treated with all forms of seriousness noting that, a healthy nation will always remain a wealthy nation.

According to him, “The best investments you can do to humanity in any nation, is number one is education, number two is health. They said a healthy nation is a wealthy nation. So, you must invest in health. If you want to look at the most important measurable of development, is health, education that is pulling people out of poverty and I concentrated in three of them and that is why I say every week, I go to health facility, school and you can’t talk about health without talking about human capital infrastructure in it.

“And the must important human infrastructure in health, is nursing, because they are the handlers of the patients, that is why I am doing that.”

Going further, the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) assured the institution of his continuous support.

“In my own little way, I want to support what you are doing here. Like I said last year and previously, it was not just last year was my first time of coming, I have been here several times and I can continue to come until we are sure that all these our young ones are taking care of.

“So, l hereby again continue my support which I will fulfill now by presenting this cheque of N15 million”, Obi said.

Responding, the Administrator of St. Philomena Catholic Hospital, Rev. Father Jerome Idebe, thanked Obi for the donation, noting that, it will help complete the project started some years ago.

When asked by journalists if he is to contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) having being alleged to have joined the ADC, Obi declined.

Recall that it was alleged that Peter Obi has formed a coalition with the ADC with the intent of contesting the 2027 presidential election.
