DSS Arraigns 5 Suspects Over Benin Kidnap Incident

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday arraigned five individuals before an Edo State High Court with Charge No: B/CD/231/M/2025 over the alleged abduction of one Mr. Iseriere in Benin City.
The accused persons, Ozo Obasuyi, Charles Edeho, Enofe Marvis, Johnbull Edoleyi, and Jeffery Igbinoba, were brought before Justice A. N. Erhabor, who presided over the case and ordered their remand in prison custody.
According to the charges, the five defendants allegedly kidnapped Jeffery Iserere on 13th June 2025 in the Eyean area, along the Benin-Auchi road, Benin City, Edo State.
The act, the presiding judge noted, contravenes Section 2(1) of the Edo State Kidnapping Prohibition Law of 2013, and immediately remanded the suspects in Correctional Centre, following a Motion Exparte order to remand the suspect in Correctional Custodial Centre, Benin City, for an initial period of 14 days pending the rendering of Legal Advice on the case from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Ministry of Justice, Edo State.
