This decision came during a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee. The previous Secretary General, Veron Mosengo, resigned just two days ago, leading to the need for new leadership.

An emergency committee was formed, and Adamu from Nigeria was chosen to serve as the interim Secretary General.

In a surprising turn of events, Patrice Motsepe, who was part of the emergency committee, was removed after a vote where 63% of the members supported his ousting. Samuel Eto’o, a football legend in Africa, will now take on the role of interim president. His leadership is expected to bring positive changes to African football like in Fecafoot.
