New EdoGIS MD Meets With Staff, Outlines Vision, Incentives For Agency

The new Managing Director of Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS), Dr. Innocent Ehiaguina Bello, on Monday had his inaugural meeting with all staff of the Agency where he unveiled his vision for agency, assuring that signing and issuance of CofO would commence soonest.

According to Dr. Bello, his primary objective would be to promote the welfare of all staff under him, and tackle the menace of land racketeering , uphold a firm and deliberate shift towards Professionalism, regular training and retraining of members of staff, transparency, discipline, and enhanced service delivery in land administration in the State.

While declaring that Governor Okpebholo’s administration has “zero-tolerance” for illicit land activities, the Managing Director reaffirmed Edo State Government’s strong commitment towards signing and issuance of CofO, eradicating land – grabbing, overlapping claims, and systemic racketeering that have historically hindered the land administration sector.

He noted that restoring “sanity and excellence” in land administration would certainly be the game changer for the present administration, adding that the Agency must evolve to meet the high expectations of the public and the state government.

He appreciated his predecessor in office and the immediate past Ag. Managing Director of the Agency, Dr. Tunde Eigbiremolen and the Management team for ensuring smooth transition to power.

While he issued a stern warning against any form of professional misconduct, negligence to duty and tardiness on the one hand, in a deft move to boost staff morale on the other hand, the Managing Director announced that there will be incentives for Staff dedication, punctuality and commitment to duty as well as award for Best behaved and well Dressed Staff.

He commended Unit heads for showing prospects of a good working relationship so far, and sued for sustenance, assuring that improved welfare packages and necessary work tools for efficiency would be delivered shortly.

He pledged to maintain an “open-door policy,” while encouraging internal feedback mechanism and collaboration to foster a more inclusive work environment towards achieving good governance.
