…Presents communique of community responsibility and its collective action for safer Edo

The Convener for the security town hall meeting with a theme Community Responsibility and its Collective Action for a Safer Edo State, a Call for Ending Kidnapping and Cultism,Comrade Sylvester Inegbenehi has officially presented the working communique issued during town hall meeting comprising the security agencies in Edo State to the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Edo State Command, Saidi Akintayo Ayinla.
The communique was presented to the Commandant in a ceremony which took place at the NSCDC office in Benin City, the State capital.
Presenting the working communique to the Commander, Comrade Inegbenehi commended the tireless efforts of Governor Monday Okpebholo in confronting these challenges head-on.
He disclosed that under Okpebholo’s administration, the government has strengthened collaboration with security agencies, supported community initiatives, and invested in youth empowerment programmes aimed at addressing the root cause of cultism and criminality. “The governor has consistently demonstrated zero tolerance for crime and a firm commitment to protecting lives and property in our dear state,” he added.
While urging the government to continue to play its part, Comrade Inegbenehi stating that lasting peace in the state requires collective responsibility with our parents, community leaders, religious leaders and traditional institutions advising that all must rise to the occasion of collective responsibility to guide, mentor, and support our young people, and provide timely information to security agencies so as to prevent criminal activities in the state.
In his response, the Commander of the State NSCDC, Commandant Saidi Akintayo Ayinla commended the initiative, stating that it’s a laudable one, and it’s coming at this very right time, adding that the Command is readily available to partner with anybody that is championing the fight against insecurity in the state.
