Elder’s Forum Consoles Alenkhe Over Mother’s Demise

The Elder’s Forum, a non-government and apolitical forum based in Benin City, Edo State capital has commiserated with the Comrade Festus Alenkhe, the Edo State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on the demise of the Matriarch of their family, Madam Rose Alenkhe who died at the age of 76.
Recall that the passage away of Madam Rose Alenkhe was announced by the Edo State Secretary of NUJ, Comrade Egbon on the 7th November 2022
Condoling with the bereaved, the Vice Chairman of the forum, Sunny Okomayin, who spoke on behalf of the chairman, Barr. Andrew Agbonwanegbe said they were at the Alenkhe family’s residence to pay their condolence visit on the demise of their Matriarch. He thereafter presented condolence letter to Comrade Alenkhe.
Part of the condolence message reads, “Sequel to the demise of your mother, Mrs. Rose Alenkhe, on 7th November, 2022, we, the members of the ELDERS’ FORUM hereby express our heartfelt condolences to you and the entire members of the Alenkhe Dynasty.
“We sincerely take solace in the fact that Mama lived a glorious life. Your outstanding enviable records and your present developmental strides as the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, are true attestations to this fact.
“May the Lord, in His infinite mercy, grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Once again, accept our sincere sympathy.”
Responding, Comrade Festus thanks the forum for their visit and called on them to join him to give his departed mother a befitting burial slated for 7th to 11th December, 2022.
In a related development, the Edo State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), ably led by its chairman, Comrade Adesua Ehimuan also paid condolence visit to the family of the Alenkhe.
Comrade Ehimuan used the avenue to invite God Almighty to grant Mama Rose Alenkhe internal rest.
Community Newspapers Association were not left out from the condolence visit. They were led by Deacon Ralph Okhiria, publisher, The Reliance Newspaper.
