Junior Chamber International (JCI) Edo Bronze has elected JC Henry Asemota as its new president.
JC Henry Asemota emerged during the JCI Convention/Investiture ceremony, held at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, Benin City, that saw past presidents of JCI Benin Metro and the immediate past president JCI Edo Bronze in attendance.
They are JCI Benin Metro and pioneer member of JCI Edo Bronze, JCI Amb. Bevy Efe K, JCI Senator Tony Abolo and the immediate past president, JCI Edo Bronze, JCI Amb. Eson Blessing,
Addressing newsmen shortly after his swearing-in ceremony, JC Henry Asemota, assured JCI of building on the dreams of its founding fathers with God helping him.
“My expectations for Edo Bronze is to take it from where I met it to the next level.
“Though it is tasking, there are a lot of projects to be done.
“With God helping us, we will also network to see that we bring those projects to limelight”, he said.
He promised to put what he has learnt from his predecessor into use, adding that, such would serve as a catalyst for him in delivering on his mandate.
“It is huge lesson, having the privilege of working with her closely, it has been an honour.
“It is like what I have practiced working with her, the mantle has fallen on me.
“So, I believe it is going to be an easy ride”, Asemota said.
Earlier, the immediate past president, JCI Edo Bronze, JCI Amb. Eson Blessing, admonished the newly elected president of JCI Edo Bronze, JC Asemota to be optimistic, stressing that if other past leaders could succeed, him too can.
“For the new president, I will say he should never relent.
“He should always be optimistic.
“He needs to sit up, and must always step on that platform where he knows that nobody is there but should have the confidence that he will succeed because there are times you will feel like given up but when you look back and see others who have served before you, succeeded, you can then ask yourself how did they do it? And if they could do it, I can do it.
“So, for me, my advice for him, is that, he should believe in God even our creed talks about believe.
“He should also believe in himself and be determined.
“He should tell himself, I can do it”, she said.
Also speaking, the past presidents of JCI Benin Metro and pioneer member of JCI Edo Bronze, JCI Amb. Bevy Efe K, advised the new president to be resilient, focused and be driven by the core values of JCI, which is, service to humanity.
He noted that they would be readily available to give him the needed assistance to succeed in the onerous tasks ahead of him.
Efe urged the elected president to build on the legacy of JCI past presidents and possibly surpass his predecessors.
JC Henry Asemota takes over from Blessing Eson. He is to pilot the affairs of JCI for one year.
