Edo 2023: Labour Party Faults Oshiomhole’s Social Media Video

…Says Oshiomhole should be held responsible for any break down of law and order in the state

The Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) has described the trending social media video of the former governor of Edo State and former National Chairman of All Progressives Party (APC), Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole allegedly directing some youths of the party in the state to harass and intimidates members and supporters of the Labour Party (LP) before, during and after the elections as abnormal and ridiculous.

In a press conference at the party secretariat in Benin City, Edo State capital, the party State Chairman of the party, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi said the action of former governor of Edo State and former National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole call for questioning from the law enforcement agency in the state.

According to Ogbaloi, “there is before us and the general public, a video, in which the former governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole was spotted, instructing APC thugs and their youth wings to harass and  intimidate Labour Party members and its supporters before, during and after the elections.

“In view of this, is abnormal and ridiculous from such a distinguished personality in the caliber of Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State could be seen openly directing disorderliness in the state.

“More surprising is that the APC and the PDP  in the capacity of their representatives, signed into a peace accord organized by the Edo Police Commissioner, where we had a huge embodiment of security agencies. To condescend from this agreement to the very level Adams Oshiomhole spoke is unacceptable.

“We hereby call on the security agencies, the State Police Commissioner to invite Adams Aliu Oshiomhole for interrogation. We make bold to say that if there is any break down of law and order in the state, that Adams Aliu Oshiomhole should be held responsible.

Going further, Comrade Ogbaloi added that it is instructive to note that the All Progressives  Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have decided to bully and intimidate Labour Party members and its supporters. “Our Party can no longer accept the way things are currently going, so we are handing over these two political parties to the law enforcement agencies to place them  on their watch list.

“As we speak, the Liaison Officer at  Ovia South-West Local government  Council of Edo State appointed by Governor Obaseki  is said to be  harassing our members and supporters  for not supporting their own candidates and we are by this, notifying the general public and the law enforcement agencies to call these political parties and their representatives to order.

“Finally, we advise our supporters to continue to be law abiding in all our campaigns but should not yield to any form of intimidations but be reassured in our collective resolve that taking Nigeria out of this national malaise will soon be achieved.”

All efforts made by The9jaTREND to reach the former governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for his response was not successful as at the time of filing in this report.
