Obagie N’ Evbosa Community Resolves Protracted Internal  Crisis, Embrace Peace

In a bid to ensure growth, progress and development in Obagie N’Evbosa Community in Ikpoba Okha local government areas of Edo State, the Odionwere, Elders and the people held a peace accord meeting to resolved the lingering crisis which has bedeviled the community for some times now.

The enlarged meeting at the instance of the Odionwere, Pa Aiguobatile Okungbowa amongst others discussed the need for the warring factions in the community to bury their differences and unite as one family so as to tackle the problem affecting the community which borders mostly on insecurity.

Speaking after the meeting, Chairman of the Elders Council, Pa Michael Alohan and Secretary to the Community, Mr. Iyore Otamere said for some time now, the community has faced a lot of security challenges, hence the need for the peace accord to tame the menace. They opined that the youths have resolved to work together as one family and shelve their differences for the common interest of the community and encouraged all and sundry to obey the decision they have taken and again to shame those perpetrating havoc to dent the good image of Obagie N’ Evbosa Community.

Speaking, the Okaighele of the Community, Mr. Festus Edegbe appreciated the Elders Council for the peace accord in order to ensure sustainable development and maintained that the youths will be on constant surveillance of the community that the criminal elements amongst them are fished out and hand over to the security agency, adding that the progress, growth and development of the community is a priority.

Edegbe added that by the youths coming together is to show to the world that the issue of infighting in the community has been fully resolved and they are one big united family.

Also speaking, the former Obagie N’Evbosa Community Youth Chairman, Mr. Rechard Uyiekpen Igiebor and Mr. Aigbedo Emmanuel said they have to embrace peace in their community and that they have no other place to run to and anybody that feels they are not comfortable with the peace in the community now, such person has his own personal problem and not welcome in the community.

The duo used the opportunity to informed the public that all the rancour and unusual activities that have been happening in the community have been resolved amicably pointing out that those unscrupulous persons who hitherto hijacked the situation to perpetrate evils to desist from the act as they are now united for the community.

According to them, “together we will put an end to the activities of these persons trying to bring the name of Obagie N’Evbosa Community to disrepute.

They unanimously reaffirmed that Festus Edegbe remains the Okaighele of Obagie N’Evbosa Community and promised to join him in bringing about the needed peace, growth and development to the Community.
