Nigerians have been enjoined to shun regional politics  instead concentrate on democracy of national unity.

The advice was given by the patron of Benin Community in Oyo State, Dr. Kingsley Oghogho Okundaye while congratulating Governor Sheyi Makinde on his second term victory at the poll.

Dr. Okundaye who described Governor Sheyi Makinde as a true democrat and a vibrant youth said his first  tenure benefited the people hence the reason the people entrusted power to him for the next four years.

The Edo born Labour Party leader said the type of politics played by Governor  Makinde is one that can be emulated because  it enshrines the principles of fair play in the country’s democracy that gives equal opportunity to all ethnic group in the state.

While advising the Oyo State governor who he described as a brother not to lose sight of his administration’s developmental sagacity which made him a role model in the  governance of the state, the former UPN  youth leader enjoined him to continue to concentrate on people oriented programmes.

Dr. Okundaye wished him well and expressed optimism that at the end of the next four years the Oyo State people will have cause to rejoice that their voting Governor Sheyi Makinde for the second tenure is not a misplaced priority.

Meanwhile Dr. Oghogho Okundaye has enjoined Christians to use the period of Easter for sober reflection and pray for the coexistence of the country.

The grassroot politician said there was no better time to reflect  positively on the death and resurrection of Christ than now that the country is going through trying period and called on all to come together and for the developmental growth of the Nigeria.
