Edo State chairman of the Labour Party, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi has reechoed that the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party remains intact.
The9JaTREND reports that Comrade Ogbaloi, chairman of the party disclosed this at a press conference attended by the governorship candidate of the party, Barr. Olumide Akpata and his deputy governorship candidate, Alhaji Asama Yusuf Kadiri, SAN at the state secretariat of the party today, 11th May, 2024.
Ogbaloi who noted that the purported dissolution of the executive council of the party can only be done by the National Working Committee (NWC), which at the time of the incident, had no knowledge of such action and has disavowed and involvement reechoed that the state youth leader of the party, Kenneth Osakpolor Omusi and his Deputy, Edo North, Mr. Alao Emmanuel suspension stands.
According to Ogbaloi, “Disregard any misinformation by the suspended youth leader; Kenneth Omusi’s suspension stands, and any dealings with him on behalf of the LP are unauthorized.
“As a party, we find it difficult to reconcile the involvement of the Edo State Security Network, working for the PDP led Edo State Government, in the invasion of our office with the suspended youth leader.”
Going further, Comrade added: “Furthermore, all recent suspensions conducted by the State Working Committee except that of the suspended Youth Leader Mr. Kenneth Osakpolor Omusi and the Deputy Youth Leader of Edo North, Mr. Alao Emmanuel are hereby reversed and all suspended returned to the fold of the party immediately.
He announced Dan Ero from Oredo Local Government Area as his replacement.
“In the sequel, a reconciliation committee shall be created to go round to make peace. We have a crucial election in September 21st where all will be needed to contribute a role.”
Meanwhile, in preparation for the upcoming governorship election, the Edo State LP Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi has announced members of the State Campaign Council of the party.
Ogbaloi said that the party meticulously selected individuals of impeccable character to lead the state campaign council and local government campaign committees.
He said the State Campaign Council will be headed by Rev. Sam Omede as Director-General, Hon. Dr. Richard Edosa (Edo South Deputy Director-General), Comrade Ehikioya Agboga (Edo Central Deputy Director-General) while Comrade Chukwunonso Andy Osielo will serves as Edo North Deputy Director-General.
“Additionally, esteemed members such as Senator Neda Imasuen, Hon. Esosa lyawe, and Hon. Murphy Osaro Omoruyi will play pivotal roles in the campaign. This Council, along with various committees, will spearhead our campaign efforts effectively,” he added.
