UNIBEN Students Protest Over Lack Of Electricity, Water Supply, Transport Increment On Campus

Students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) Ugbowo Campus today Wednesday 3rd July, 2024 took over the ever busy Ugbowo – Lagos Express road to protest over power outage in the university as well as lack of water supply to their hostels among others.

The9jaTREND reports that the students protest is to demand from the university management the urgent need to restore of public electricity to the campus and water supply to students residing in the University hostels.

Others grievances include the increase in the transport fare of intra campus shuttle bus services.

At the time of filing this report, the management of the University was yet to make an official statement on the protest by the students.
