Edo 2024: Sergius Ogun Leads Edo LP Members To Endorse Ighodalo

…Says, Ighodalo is the finest and the most prepared for the September guber election

Former Labour Party (LP) Governorship Aspirant Rt. Hon. Sergius Oseasochie Ogun yesterday led Edo Central LP members to endorse the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Asue Ighodalo as the next governor of the state comes September, 2024.

While speaking during the official flag off of PDP rally at Ubiaja Stadium, headquarters of Esan South-East local government area, Hon. Ogun the immediate past federal law maker who represented the good people of Agbazilo Federal constituency disclosed that Asue Ighodalo is the finest and the most prepared governorship candidate for the September gubernatorial election

“Let’s support Asue Ighodalo for Governor and Osarodion Ogie for Deputy. We know the drill; we’ll vote for Asue to lead our state. As ‘The Man Wey Sabi’ would say, ‘He Go Do Am’, and in Edo, we don’t settle for last place. You all know what we stand for, and Asue has assured me that he’ll deliver on all our expectations.”

Barr. Sergius Ogun was widely regarded as one of the finest representatives in the National Assembly as it were for his unique people-oriented motions and bills he facilitated during the 2015-2023 National legislative years added that his decision to endorse Ighodalo comes after he was one of the leading LP aspirants in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election before allegations emerged that the current LP candidate was alleged to have fraudulently acquired the ticket.

Despite this setback, Ogun has chosen to put the interests of the people of Edo State above personal ambitions and has thrown his weight behind Ighodalo, citing his exceptional qualifications and preparedness for the office.

According to Ogun, “After careful consideration and consultation with my supporters and stakeholders, I have come to the realization that Barr. Asue Ighodalo is the finest and most prepared candidate for the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election. His vision, experience, and leadership skills make him the ideal candidate to take Edo State to the next level.”

Ogun’s endorsement of Ighodalo is a significant boost to the PDP Ighodalo/Ogie ticket, as it brings on board a large chunk of LP supporters who were previously undecided. This move is also seen as a testament to Ighodalo’s broad appeal and his ability to unite stakeholders across party lines.

In his remarks, Ighodalo thanked Ogun and his supporters for their endorsement, saying, “On behalf of my running mate, Barr. Osarodion Ogie, I am humbled by the trust and confidence reposed in us by Barr. Sergius Ogun and his supporters. We pledge to work tirelessly to justify this endorsement and to deliver good governance to the people of Edo State.”
