By Our REPORTER
Newspaper publication on the alleged killing of one person and three others sustaining injuries at Ubiaza village in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State following the the ban on Community Development Association, (CDA) have been debunked by the person who was alleged to have committed the crime.
The young man, Ambassador Osagiede Uhunmwangho who was accused by the acting Odionwere of the village, Pa Joe Osaheni said he knows nothing about the alleged killing of the said Isaac Onoriode and the subsequent injuries on three other persons from Ubiaza village.
He said, to put the record straight, he is not from Ubiaza village but from Obaretin village and for the said acting Odionwere to say that he was the one that led people to kill the said Isaac Onoriode is totally false and a cheap blackmail to tarnish his good name.
Mr. Uhunmwangho pointed out that Ubiaza and Obaretin are two different villages, adding that, the problem is not a communal crisis but rather their own internal fight, and again he was in the hospital on that particular day the incident occurred.
“They should solve their problems within themselves instead of accusing me of what l know nothing about,” Uhunmwangho said.
He noted that, looking at the issues critically, the great Oba of the great Benin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin graciously banned the activities of Community Development Association (CDA) in 2017 and was surprise that they are talking about the activities of CDA in a village that he is not from or reside in.
While calling on the relevant security agencies to look into the alleged killing of the said Isaac Onoriode so as to bring the culprit to book, Mr Uhunmwangho appeal to the people of Ubiaza village to stop pointing accusing finger on him and desist from cheap blackmail to tarnish his good name.
Meanwhile the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello when contacted affirmed that there is internal crisis in Ubiaza village and not a communal crisis.
He said, “On the 16th of August 2021, l got a message from the Division Police Officer in charge of Ologbo Division that there was leadership tussle in Ubiaza village and in the process, one Isaac Onoriode was shot dead.
