Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has conducted its state congress that elected the State Working Committee who will pilot of the Party for the next four years.

Dr. Igbinomwanhia, who was the PRP Interim Committee Chairman, and a host of others emerged as duly elected officials of the party in Edo State via a peaceful electoral college process conducted by Kenneth Iguisi, Chairman, Congress Committee and witnessed by its National Youth Leader, Olajide Wolimo and operatives of security agencies among many others.

Other officials of the party elected are Sule Sani Afegbua (Vice Chairman); Jeffrey Imonmion (Secretary); Marian Okunega (Treasurer); Smart Erhabor (Internal Auditor); Agbons Osajie (Legal Adviser); Simeon Osajie (State Publicity Secretary); Monday Oise (Assistant Publicity Secretary); Comfort Agho (Woman Leader); Collins Ovbiebo (Youth Leader); Ezra Ekundayo (Financial Secretary); Nurudeen Momodu (Assistant Financial Secretary); Richy Obobaifo Idugboe (Assistant Legal Adviser); Abuomwande Ojo (State Organising Secretary); Johnson Ozogo (Assistant Organising Secretary) and Morgan Osemwenkhae (Assistant Secretary).

In an interview after his emergence as the state chairman of the party, Dr. Greg Igbinomwanhia, said the beginning of good governance is the existence of an unbiased umpire. He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to live above board in the discharge of its assignment.

“Elections in Nigeria are still far from been fair, devoid of rigging and manipulation. This is because the party in power is controlling the umpire(INEC).

“INEC continues to exhibit a body language that amplifies that they’re biased. The government should ensure that that the umpires are people who are interested in the right thing been done so that those emerging are answerable to Nigerians.”

Going forward, he asserted that his mission as chairman of the PRP in Edo State is to bring about good governance even as the present crop of political elites  “are selfish people whose only care is what comes to their pockets.”
