2024: Esan’s Turn in Osadebey Avenue not negotiable
DOOR TO DOOR is a Benin based Political Pressure Group that was birthed since 1998; aimed at ensuring the hard earned Nigeria democracy in the fourth republic thrives against all odds, after the long reign of the military.
Through its works deploying the bottom-up approach at the grassroots in political education and enlightenment; aggressive mobilization of the people; it had contributed in no small measure to the emergence of various administrations in Edo State and the National legislature.
DOOR TO DOOR major interest is the emergence of high quality people oriented Government towards having an egalitarian society where everyone is happy.
Flowing from the brief summary of DOOR TO DOOR FORUM; as the race towards 2024 GOVERNORSHIP Election gather momentum, and having weighed all the pros and cons, we have resolved that the agitation for the ESAN nation to produce the Governor of Edo State come 2024 is sacrosanct and non – negotiable.
Hence; we have began work to launch a very aggressive campaign in this regard: deploying the instrument of lobbying of all other relevant groups; mobilization of the grassroots in all the Local Government Council Areas of the State to go and register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
As well impressing on them the importance of the PVC as a powerful tool to choose their desired representatives at the various levels of Government.
To this end, we support them with stipends for transport.
DOOR TO DOOR believes that the idea of ‘Automatic Ticket’ for anyone aspiring to the State and National legislature is not ideal and should not be encouraged, as it negates popular and impactful representation.
Therefore; DOOR TO DOOR in line with its belief, wants to suggest that contest for these positions amongst aspirants should be thrown open to everyone on all political platforms without attachment of any hindrance.
This is so as we believe that it would help bolster the resume (chances) of the political parties; many of which are self sustaining financially.
Though some people; for selfish interest(s) in their campaign of calumny; say the ESAN nation is just about 20 percent of the population of Edo State hence; they cannot never have the Governorship.
But for the sake of fairness, equity, and Justice, it is no gain saying that after the eight years of the Adams Oshiomhole’s administration and Godwin Obaseki already in his second term of eight years in office, it is only right that the Edo Central Senatorial Zone: Home to the ESAN nation should produce the next Governor.
This is how it should be; like obtained in our sister State of Delta; and this is the only way to go irrespective of political beliefs and alignment.
As Torch bearer of democracy that works; impactful governance and representation; DOOR TO DOOR seeks partnership of all like minds in the actualization of this noble task we have chosen.
The race has started and it is better to have a strong and reliable take off!
It will also interest you to know that we are already planning ‘Esan Summit’ slated to hold in the month of May with ‘Protea Hotel’ as the proposed venue.
