Disregard Any Purported Change Of Evboeka To Oyemwen – Enogie Advices Public

The Enogie of lhovbor/Evboeka Community, in Orhionmeon local government area of Edo State, has advised the general public particularly citizens of the community both within and in the Diaspora to disregard the purported news going round that Evboeka camp in Ihovbor community has been changed to Oyemwen community.
In a press statement issued and signed by HRH Fortune O. Igbinakenzua Enogie, said that the general public is hereby put on notice to disregard the purported change of name that Evboeka remains the valid and undisputed name of the camp.
Part of the statement reads, “this is to bring to the notice of the general public that some individual/persons are embarking/making arrangements to change the name of Evboeka camp in Ihovbor to Oyemwen community without the consent and approval of the traditional ruler (the Enogie) and most importantly, without the consent and approval of our Royal Father, the Oba of the great Benin kingdom.
“It will be recalled that the same subject matter was published in the Nigerian Observer, Friday, November 9, 2012 and a letter to that effect was made to the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Orientation which was dated 4th October, 2012 and carries the outright disapproval of the Enogie of Ihovbor to any type of change.
“In this connection, the general public is hereby put on notice to disregard the purported change of name, Evboeka remains the valid and undisputed name of the camp.”
Going further, the statement added, “Also the general public is hereby notified and to be wary that any individual/persons/group of persons/cooperate organization who deals with Evboeka under the illegal name of Oyemwen camp does so at his or her/their own risk.
“The general public is advised to take note of the notification in their own interest.”
