The Edo State Chairman of the Labour Party, (LP) has debunked the rumour going round that the earlier scheduled visitation of the party presidential candidate and his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti has been cancelled.

You would recalled that the National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure has earlier told journalists that the party presidential campaign train of Mr. Peter Obi and his running mate Ahmed Datti will be visiting Edo this month.

In a press conference at the party secretariat in Benin City, the state chairman of the party, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi who debunked the rumour said that the scheduled plan of visitation of the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti remains as planned.

Ogbaloi said that the party has been inundated with inquiries of change of plans, adding that nothing has changed from the initial planned of the party presidential candidate and his running mate Obi/Datti visitation to Edo State, adding that any rumour of any purported change is not true as such should be disregarded by the general public and the Obidient family.

“We want to reach out to our teeming supporters of Peter Obi and Ahmed  Datti of Labour party to state that the programme of visitation of Peter Obi team remains unchanged, that as earlier planned, the date and time of the visit remains as scheduled”.

“The in-coming President of Nigeria come 2023, Peter Obi, will be in town on Friday and as he arrives, we shall be going to Edo North axis to visit the Otaru of Auchi and his chiefs. From there, we would move to Edo central where we will be meeting the Onojie of Uromi Kingdom and from there, we would move straight to Benin City to meet with His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, II, Oba of Benin Kingdom and after that, we are going to be meeting with our various support groups at Baptist Convention ground,” he concluded.
