Noise Pollution: Edo Govt Gives Event Centers, Churches, Mosques, Others March 31 Deadline To Soundproof Facilities

The Edo State Government has given March 31, 2023 deadline to owners and operators of hotels, night clubs, lounges, churches and mosques as well as event centers to soundproof their facilities from polluting the environment with noise levels above the set standards.
Recall that at the October, 2022 meeting with these operators, the Edo State Government issued the directive.
Addressing newsmen in Benin City, the state capital, the State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare said the owners and operators of hotels, night clubs, lounges, churches and mosques as well as event centers are constituting public noise thereby deriving children from conducive environment to study in schools.
According to Nehikhare, “government want a conducive and safe society where children are allow to study in school and citizens don’t have to be disturbed after day’s work.
“No going back on March 31, 2023 deadline to owners and operators of hotels, night clubs, lounges, churches and mosques as well as event centers to soundproof their facilities.”
