PDP Councillorship Aspirant, Ehiofomwan Iziegbe Ekuase Disqualifies Over An Allege Homosexual Activities
…Wanted by the police as Elders of Umagbae call for cleansing of land

A Councillorship Aspirant for Umagbae South, Ward 6 of Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State for the forthcoming local government election in Edo State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ehiofomwan Iziegbe Ekuase has been disqualified from contesting the election.
The9JaTREND reports that Ekuase was disqualified as result of his alleged involvement in homosexual activity with the Director General of his campaign committee, one Mr. Kelly Omorodion.
In a statement signed by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, Edo State Chairman of the PDP and made available to newsmen stated that Ehiofomwan Iziegbe Ekuase was disqualified from the race after he was allegedly caught red handed by members of Umagbae youths who laid siege at the popular Reliance Hotel, Off Benin- Asaba Bye-pass at Umagbae.
The statement reads: “This is to notify the general public that Mr. Ehiofomwan Iziegbe Ekuase of the People Democratic Party, aspiring for Councillorship position in Umagbae South of Uhunmwode Local Government area of Edo State has been disqualified due to an alleged homosexual activity between him and his campaign Director General (DG) in the person of Mr. Kelly Omorodion.
“The aspirant who is legally married with kids was caught in his hotel room having intimacy with his supposed campaign D.G. He is therefore advised to present himself to the Edo State Police Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and persecution”.
When newsmen visited Reliance Hotel for confirmation, an official of the hotel who craved anonymity disclosed that Ekuase was actually apprehended by the youths of the community and was dragged to the house of the Odionwere, Chief Obadiaru Obazee.
It was discovered that when the youths were taking him Ekuase to the police station, he escaped and has not been seen since then.
When newsmen visited the Odionwere Chief Obadiaru Obazee, he confirmed the apprehension of Ekuase while engaging in homosexual. Obadiaru stated that the homosexual is (awah) taboo in Benin Kingdom explaining that elders of the community have given him a list of items he must provide, including goat, dog, tortoise and 7 tubers of yam to cleanse the land.
The Odionwere stated that he escaped while being taken to the police station for arrest and prosecution. Obadiaru added that Ekuase’s house has been sealed with omen (palm fronts) as the usual practice in Benin Kingdom pending when he would come with the sacrificial items to cleanse the land of the sacrilege he committed.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Office (PPRO) of the Edo State Police Command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Chidi Nwagbuzor said the matter has been reported to the police by Umagbae South youths and that Ehiofomwan Iziegbe Ekuase has been declared wanted for the offence of alleged homosexual and on arrest he will be charged to court in accordance with the relevant sections of the law on sodomy as applicable in Edo State.
