Edo NUJ To Set Up Situation Room For 2023 General Elections
…Wishes journalists safety as they go about their official assignments

The leadership of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has promised to open an Election Monitoring Situation Room on Saturday February 25, 2023.
According to press statement issued and signed by Comrade Festus Alenkhe and Comrade Addy Egbon, Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Union, the situation room which it to be manned by top journalists in the State will be at the Union’s Secretariat, Oba Oguola NUJ Press Centre, 1, Sir Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion Way, GRA., Benin City, the state capital.
The statement added that the purpose of creating the Situation Room is to received and attend to complaints relating to the 2023 General Elections from journalists covering the elections in different part of the state.
According to the statement, the monitoring and feedback room will open at 6.00am and will be closed after the announcement of the Presidential and National Assembly Election results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The union’s leadership therefore wishes all journalists covering the elections safety as they go about disseminating information to the general public during and after the elections.
