A chieftain of the Labour Party  (LP), Dr Kingsley Oghogho Okundaye has described the massive turn up of votes for its Presidential flagbearer, Mr. Peter Obi and other Labour Party candidates across the country as a  sign of total readiness of the people for a new Nigeria .

Dr. Okundaye made the statement in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to newsmen to the Labour Party candidates across the country especially in Edo South Senatorial District.

He said what transpired at the poll was an indication that the people genuinely needed a truthful change because they were tired of suffering and hardship which they have been going through in the past years.

Dr. Kingsley Oghogho Okundaye who is one of those that agitated for the creation of Edo State said, from the results of the poll it was obvious that the electorate were tired of recycling politicians hence they needed a phase of new life and individuals that will take the country to the promised land.

Her assured the people that the Presidential and National  Assembly polls was just the beginning and eye opening to the true basis of the new Nigeria as sooner or later it will spread across States especially  Edo at the governorship level.

The political juggernaut however appealed to the people not to take into violence  to express how they felt bad about the outcome of the presidential  elections  where INEC was perceived to have manipulated the process.

He said the national leadership of the party is already putting things together in order to reclaim the stolen mandate and call for calm for all Obedient worldwide. 

He therefore called on all to come out enmasse on the 11th  of March to vote for the candidates of Labour Party in the governorship and house of assembly elections across the country to consolidate on the landslide victory of our great party.

Dr. Okundaye also used the opportunity to commend the doggedness and zeal of all the senatorial and house of representatives candidates for their effortlessness in ensuring victory is served to the Labour Party.
