Illegal Possession Of Firearms: Police Arrests Edo APC Vice Chairman Tenebe, Other

The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Dankwara, yesterday, Wednesday, 15th March, arrested a chieftain and the State Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emperor Jarret Tenebe and one Akeem Zibiri, a retired officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) who was released early hours of today, Thursday 16th March over illegal possession of arms and invasion of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Etsako West local government area of the state.
Tenebe and Akeem were learnt to have been released from the police custody at about 10:30am today.
Announcing the release, the State Treasurer of the APC, Comrade Ahmed Ekekhide Mahmud said, “Edo State APC Vice Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe and Akeem Zibiri who were arrested early hour this morning by Edo State Deputy Governor , Comrade Philip Shaibu, has just be released around 10:30am today 16th March 2023 by the State Commissioner of Police.”
Earlier, Tenebe and one Akeem Zibiri, a retired officer of the NDLEA were arrested for being in possession of firearms.
They were also accused of invading the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
