House Of Assembly Election: Kolokolo, Ajamimogha, Ikara Communities Congratulates Gov Obaseki

Members of Kolokolo, Ajamimogha and Ikara Communities in the riverine areas of Ologbo Dukedom, Ikpoba/Okha Local Government Area of Edo State have congratulated the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki on the recent victory of his party, the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the Edo State House of Assembly election held Saturday 18th March, 2023.
In a congratulatory message, the President, Kolokolo Community, Mr. Roland Maye noted that Governor Obaseki’s developmental strides earned the People’s Democratic Party and its candidates in Edo State the victory and called on members-elect to join hands with the Governor Obaseki led administration to give Edo people more dividends of democracy.
According to Maye, “On behalf of Kolokolo Community, I congratulate Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki on his victory in the just concluded Edo State House of Assembly election held Saturday 18th March, 2023.
“We came out en mass to vote for his candidates because of the laudable projects he has been executing in Kolokolo and other riverine Communities. One of such projects is the posting of teachers to our community primary school. Over the years, there were no teachers in the school and the communal employed teachers and have been paying them until the Governor came to our aid by posting eight teachers to the school.
“Although the teachers have not been given permanent employment, we are relieved of the burden of paying their salary and we appeal to Governor Obaseki to make their appointment permanent, because they are still on Edo State government payroll.”
Continuing, Mr. Maye enumerating the Governor’s developmental strides in Kolokolo Community. “He has appointed several people in the riverine communities. I’m one of those he appointed Special Assistant (SA).
“We also have to thank him for deploying the Nigeria Army, Civil Defense, the Edo State Vigilante Security Network and other security agencies to the riverine areas. Since the deployment of these security agencies, kidnappings and other criminalities have stopped.”
While assuring the Governor of their continued support for his administration, the Kolokolo Community president thank the Enogie of Ologbo Dukedom for creating enabling environment for everyone in the riverine communities to coexist peacefully and appealed to the Governor Obaseki for the speedy complete the ongoing construction of the Ikpako, Kolokolo, Ajaki road leading to the oil flow station; and more so to renovate a block of classrooms in Kolokolo Community built by Lucky Igbinedion now dilapidated with blown off roof and the provision of a health centre in the community as according to him, the people have to cross the river to Koko in Delta State for medical attention.
Also speaking, a leader of Kolokolo Community, Elder Benson Ayokotse thanked Governor Godwin Obaseki for the posting of teachers to the community; a development he said has saved their children from crossing the river to attend school in Koko in Delta State and appealed for the fencing of the primary school and staff quarters.
He also applaud the Enogie of Ologbo Dukedom for his fatherly role of handling issues in his Dukedom and also thank the Brigade Commanders and the commander of the Civil Defense, and the Edo State Vigilante Security Network for their good works in the riverine communities of Edo State.
While commending Governor Obaseki for all what he is doing for Ajamogha Community and other riverine communities in Ikpoba/Okha Local Government Area, Elder moses Otikpere said, “the good work of Governor Obaseki in the Community is commendable. He said the governor has given them a state of belonging which made the people to vote massively for the PDP in the Ologbo Dukedom and the state in general. He appealed to the governor to help in renovating and fencing of the community primary school.
Why Elder Tuoyo Brown, a community leader in Ajamogha Community appealed that Ajamogha be linked with the road network from the oil flow station to Ajamogha, and the provision of a health centre at Ajamogha as the people still have to cross the river by boat to Koko in Delta State to access health facilities, he appreciated Governor Obaseki for his contributions so far to the communities.
Also congratulating the Governor on the PDP’s electoral victory, Solomon Ogbaro, the Taskforce Public Relations Officer of Ikara Community who spoke on behalf of Ikara Community noted that the PDP’s victory is a testament to the leadership qualities of Governor Obaseki.
He appealed to Governor Obaseki to post teachers to the government primary school in Ikara Community and build a health centre for the community as their people still cross the river by boat to get medical attention in Koko, Delta State.
