Hoard Fuel, Lose Your Land – Obaseki Orders

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has ordered all petrol stations across the State to immediately resume sales of products or risk closure of their station, and allow those who are willing to do petroleum business come in.
In a press statement issued by Mr. Osaigbovo Iyoha, Chief of Staff to Edo State Government said that information reaching the government revealed that some petrol dealers in the state are capitalizing on President Bola Tinubu speech during his inauguration that petrol subsidy is gone to exploit citizens.
The statement read in parts, “The attention of Edo State Government has been drawn to attempt by some petrol dealers in the state to hoard fuel and create artificial scarcity and hike the prize.
“As a responsible government that cares for her citizens, we shall resist those economic sabotage by applying all avenue so that citizens can do their businesses without untold hardship.
“To this end, all petrol stations are ordered to mmediately resume sales of products or risk closure of their station, and allow those who are willing to do petroleum business come in.
“We cannot continue to allow extortion of our people in whatever guise.”
Recall President Bola Tinubu during his inaugural speech said fuel subsidy is gone and was not in the budget of the immediate past administration of Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari. The announcement prompted some filling station to stop sales of petroleum product in the State
