Nat’l Assembly Inauguration: Martins Okoukoni Congratulates Akpabio, Abbas, Others

A frontline governorship aspirant in the Edo 2024 Governorship election, Dr. Martins Azekhumen Okoukoni has congratulated the newly elected Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Speaker, House of Reps, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and other principal officers both in the Red and Green Chambers of the National Assembly over the successful inauguration and their emergence as the key principal officers of the 10th National Assembly.

In a press statement personally signed by Dr. Martins Azekhumen Okoukoni made available newsmen prayed to God Almighty to grant the newly elected leaders of the 10th National Assembly the wisdom and good health to carry out their onerous task of steering the affairs of the National Assembly.

“l prayed God Almighty to grant the leadership of the National Assembly the wisdom and good health to carry out the onerous task of steering the affairs of the Assembly towards a peaceful and progressive future to the benefit of Nigerians.

“To Edo State Senators and House of Representatives members in the National Assembly, I congratulate you all for your achievement, and I urged you to forge a good working relationship with the newly elected leaders of the Red and Green Chambers of the 10th National Assembly so as to play its vital role of a partner to the executive arm of government in bringing the require dividends of democracy to the great people of Edo State.

“I also prayed to God Almighty to grant you all the wisdom and good health to enable you discharge your duty creditably.”

The 2024 governorship hopeful, while congratulating all Edo State elected members of the 10th National Assembly to be cautious with their mandates regardless of their background and put aside political interests, assuring them of realizing an exit that will be more glorious when they split with the mindset of serving the people.

According to Okoukoni, “I believe that achieving the primary of proper representatives and the provision of democratic dividends should form a larger part of your policy obligations to the people who elected you into the seat of power.

“I am eagerly looking forward to working amicably with the legislatives arm of government both at the National Assembly and State Assembly upon my emergence as the Executive Governor of Edo State after 2024 gubernatorial election in the interest of the great people of Edo State.

“I want to specially commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the successful inauguration of the 10th National Assembly of our great country, Nigeria.”
