A frontline governorship aspirant in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Edo State Commissioner of Education, Engr. Gideon Obhakhan, today, 6th July, 2023 said the people of Edo Central Senatorial District of the will continue to lobby for the zoning of the governorship slot to the region.

Obhakhan said this during an interactive session with newsmen at the Conference Hall of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Edo State Council.

According to the governorship aspirant, the lobby is very important because the Edo Central does not have the numerical strengthen to singlehandedly produce a governor, therefore has to garner support from other zones to actualize its ambition.

“So, for fairness and equity, we are lobbying and reaching out to other districts that for equity and fairness, they should support Esan extraction to produce the next governor after governor Obaseki”.

The former Commissioner who said his quest to be the next governor of the state is not a do-or-die approach for him, said his desire is to revamp the agricultural sector, infrastructure and ensuring that access roads to farms are well taken care of to boost food production in the state.

He also said that he is going to make sure that education is given adequate attention should he succeed Me. Godwin Obaseki as governor of the state.

While speaking on the removal of fuel subsidy, he commended President Bola Tinubu for mustering the courage to have removed the long talked about subsidy.
