A frontline Edo 2024 governorship aspirant and former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye has lamented over poor approach to education system in the country and urged both the states and federal governments to wake up to its responsibility by providing the required equipment for our upcoming young Nigerians for conducive atmosphere for learning.

According to Okiye, the only we can get reconnected our education system is only through the young ones coming up.

The former Edo Speaker who made the observation during the 2023 graduation ceremony of Goldmark Education Academy, Benin City, Edo State capital disclosed that there is some great element of some efforts to produced good leadership of our tomorrow.

“Today, nobody can tell good of our country because we missed the track and we just hope that somewhere we get reconnected through the young ones coming up, and I can also attest to the fact that Goldmark Education Academy is doing well in that direction.

“But suffice to say that obviously from what you can see, there is some great element of some efforts to produced leadership of our tomorrow.

“Based by the background of the founder, Prof. Mike Obadan and l know his profile; his academic profile, l may be tempted to say he just done well and he will continue to do it well,” he said.

Hon. Okiye who is desirous to succeed Governor Godwin Okaseki as next governor of Edo State come 2024 gubernatorial election, posited that he would introduced an approach that will overhaul our education system.

Earlier, the Chairman of Goldmark Education Academy, Prof. Mike Obadan said the number of graduating students is 148 compared to 113 in 2022. He thanked God for the progress recorded so far, and deeply appreciated the support of parents and guardians, and the teachers, the majority of whom he said have shown notable dedication to the ideals of the Academy.
